Click the Windows orb to launch the Start menu. From the Start menu,
select the label that reads, All
Programs. From the All Programs
submenu, select the label that reads Windows update. Wait for the Windows
update window to launch. Select the label View
Update History. Check for any updates marked Failed. Right click the update option and view the details of the
last update. Select the label that reads More
Information. Double click the
link to the Microsoft Knowledge Base
article. Select the topic about which you need help.

Launch the Start menu.
Click the Windows Start orb to
launch the Start menu. From the Start menu pop up, select the label
that reads My Computer or Computer. Alternatively, you can launch
the My Computer or the Computer
window using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+
E. Right click the label that reads, Properties.
See the amount of free space on your system. If you find there is not
enough space on your system, launch the disk cleanup process. The disk cleanup
process will remove temporary files, files from the Recycle Bin, offline Web
pages, debug dump files, thumbnails and system error files. You will find the
Clean up feature in the Programs and
Features menu. Click the label to initiate the clean up.

Click the Windows orb to launch the Start menu. Alternatively, you can launch the start orb by clicking
the Windows shortcut key. Type cmd into
the search window and press the Enter
key. This will launch the folder containing the cmd file. Right click the file labeled cmd.exe. From the dropdown, select the label Open. From the prompt window, select the option Run as administrator. Enter sfc/scannow as the keyword in the
command prompt within the command window. Hit either the Enter option or the Enter
key to initiate the System File Checker
utility.
